Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

I swear it wasn’t my plan to post about the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this morning. I started out compiling links for the Friday post and got sucked into the sale vortex. So I figured, after that lost hour (and some spent money), why not share my (so-far) favorites? I’ll still post the Friday links post later this afternoon.

I scrolled through the entire dress section looking for good florals and Dôen lookalikes. It’s a fall sale, which doesn’t scream florals, however, so I found a few other things, too…

The J Crew Atrium Midi Dress is such a perfect LBD. I would pack this on our next trip!

This Tie Waist T-Shirt Dress by Socialite would look great with Grecian-style sandals for that limbo season.

This peasant dress by Hinge looks just like a much more expensive one from Dôen.

Still pretty expensive, but the best of the floral style I was looking for: Willow Bud Dress by La Vie Rebecca Taylor

Plaid shirtdress by 1901 that would be great for those fall apple-picking family photos. (Comes in plus-size, too.)

Next I skipped to jumpsuits

There were a lot of good ones, but I think I’ve linked to this tie-waist Vince Camuto jumpsuit before. I love the bright red for a holiday outfit.

And denim…

AG and Madewell jeans are my favorites. The AG can be hard to find on sale, so this is a great deal. Farrah Ankle Skinny and Ex Boyfriend Relaxed Slim.

I’ve also heard great things about Frame Denim. I’d be curious to try Le Slender Straight Leg Jeans.

A low investment way to try out a trend-cut: Jamie Flare Jeans by TopShop or the Crop Flare Jeans by Caslon

The Coat section of the sale is huge. I don’t really need a new one, but if you do it’s worth a look.

Nonetheless, a classic Pendleton Fargo Duster is tempting. I love the look of Buffalo plaid around the holidays.

I started getting winded by the time I got to sweaters…

Though I’m always tempted by long, duster cuts. The Madewell waffle-stitch sweater jacket is on sale.

I reach for the Ryder Cardigan from Madewell all fall last year. It’s so soft. And it’s sold out in the olive on Madewell, but still available at Nordstrom.

Pajamas

Who doesn’t love the look of a J Crew tipped set? Great price.

Accessories are probably the most dangerous category…

I love this perforated rendition of the Madewell transport tote in beige. Crossbody, goes with everything… Seems like the post-summer version of a straw tote.

Really cute slip-on chucks. The Converse Shoreline Sneaker.

I was looking for these Vince Darlington Flats in the beige, but the color sold out. The blush looks really nice, too! Also, black, and white. Hmmmm…

A Brixton fedora in a less-expected shade of palm. You know I love hats!

And so many good ankle booties. (Like these Chelsea boots by Botkier)

I had to stop before the beauty and kids and mens’ sections… oh my.

Pro-tip: If there’s a brand you like, and you want to see if anything good is on sale, you can sort by percent off in the upper right corner of the displayed items.
