Fanny pack-ing it.

Have you gotten into the fanny pack trend? A while back I wrote about some of my favorite belt bags, but it’s been interesting to see their direction returning to the sling shape of my youth—only this time, more often styled as a cross-body bag.

I used mine (albeit around my waist) all throughout our trip to Disneyland, and was reminded how utilitarian they are. Here’s some looks that have caught my eye for this spring, worn both at the hip and at the chest…

Tree Fairfax makes gorgeous hand-crafted, half-moon belt bags that I’ve often seen styled as crossbody. One of my favorites for dipping one’s toe into to the style.

(If you like this look, check out Awl Snap, too.)

The Croc Embossed ones (at top and here) are made by Nanushka and are, as you might expect, more pricey. But it’s a pretty fun upgrade to casual-comfy style. I love this tan shade and this taupe.

And it looks like this Etsy seller, Daphny Raes, has made her beautiful sling bags in a cross-embossed leather as a custom order.

If you like this look, check out the Melbourne by Brahmin. Or there’s a nice looking faux-leather fanny pack by TopShop. For some nylon options, see at bottom.

It would be hard to mention fanny pack and bum bags without including Clare V. Hers comes in classic tones as well as bold patterns, and always looks great.

If you like her bright colors, check out the Cuyana in Blood Orange.

Greta Gerwig famously wore the Lexington Bum Pack by Marlow Goods while directing Ladybird, but Kate Huling (who used to make those leather accessories out of the extra skin from cows that they use for meat at Marlow & Sons restaurants), has closed up shop. This CHC Glare Fanny Pack looks similar, and comes in a few colors.

Madewell’s new option comes in three colors and can also be worn both ways.  I really like how the Linen looks with summer dresses and denim.

If you like this style, it’s similar to the Lo & Sons Waverly that I have. And I like the touch of gold zippers on this one.

Finally, there’s something really nice about low-key nylon or canvas. (Plus, the price is better if you’re on the fence.)

This Rebecca Minkoff comes in black, olive, pink, bone, and camo. The Herschel comes in all kinds of colors and patterns. And they make the OG sling shape, too.

What do you think? Are you into the fanny pack?

P.S. Favorite sweaters right now, and sunny vacation picks.
