The Weekly Digest

It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through October. Even Hudson mentioned the seemingly quick passage of time and you know when a 5th grader notices…

We’re deep into soccer games and fall-ball, but before long we need to finish up our costumes and get ready for the kids’ favorite holiday. Last night, while watching Game Five play out between the SF Giants and the LA Dodgers, we started talking plans and a mom leaned over and shared this simple but brilliant Halloween-hack! Place a flameless candle inside one of those plastic pumpkins for an instant trick-or-treating lantern!

Here are some other things of note lately…

Are you trying to tell me something? So many mom friends sent me this funny SNL skit! Ha!

Likewise, those who know me well shared this Fallon tribute to Nancy Meyers’ movies.

Aron and I started watching Squid Game. It’s just as compelling as everyone said. Incredibly dark and violent, but so compelling. Are you watching? And if not, what are you watching instead?

David Sedaris has a new book out, so I’ve been queueing up all of the podcast interviews he’s giving. He’s my favorite.

This actor’s take on Robin Williams is so spot-on.

I’m looking forward to watching the first episode of Netflix’s new bookclub show—it will first cover Nella Larsen’s Passing.

I’d like to try this tofu salad recipe. My kids love peanut sauce.

Adele’s first song from her new album was released! Easy on Me

I just stepped on and broke my favorite inexpensive sunglasses. Glad to see they’re still available!

We are thinking about new coffee set-ups and I’ve been recommended this one by so many people. The only issue is that it doesn’t have an espresso option. Will I miss it? Anyone have other favorites?

The cutest new (customizable!) kids’ pjs.

Is this the prettiest puffer jacket?

Lulu & Georgia is having a big anniversary sale. I’m thinking of getting a new rug and it might be the right time. Has anyone purchased from there?
