New traditions, old traditions…

For New Year’s Eve, Ashley and I went to Dumont, in Brooklyn, where we had a 3-course dinner, followed by dancing, in a well-heated patio (particularly important considering it was near freezing outside). The theme was Mascarade, and everyone at the party got into the spirit. The staff, of course, seemed to have the best masks. The food was great and they made amazing drinks–which helped to bring in the new year with a bang. It was the first time Ashley or I had ever made reservations for New Year’s Eve, having usually saved a special dinner for New Year’s Day instead.

The next morning, we had a second (annual?) New Year’s Day brunch at Frankie’s, where–as I may have mentioned a few times–they serve the best egg sandwich and best french toast I’ve ever had! We spent the rest of the day walking around the city, taking it all in.
2010 is here!
