In Season: Halva and Grape Galette

I’ve been getting to know a lot of talented people in Sacramento lately, mostly thanks to Instagram. That’s how I met Bella, who made this mouth-watering Grape Galette. We were both at the Sacramento Tomato Festival and realized we’d taken nearly identical photos of one particularly beautiful display of figs and tomatoes.

I started following her, looking forward to seeing what she was cooking up herself.

Bella writes Ful-filled and, you’ll notice, she’s passionate about local, seasonal, whole foods, and recipes that tell a story. And so I reached out to see if she’d be willing to create some recipes for Hither & Thither. I’m so happy that she agreed!

For the next month, leading up to Thanksgiving, look out for original, seasonal recipes from Bella’s kitchen each week. And in the meantime, check out Ful-Filled to learn how to make this gorgeous Halva and Grape Galette.

What are some of your favorite sources for recipe inspiration (or simply inspiring food photos)?

P.S. A favorite alternative to pumpkin pie.
