“I am convinced that people are looking for a lasting alternative to denim. We want people all over the world to rediscover their love for corduroy.” So say the founders of The Cords & Co.
According to Atlas Obscura, who traced the fabric’s history in a recent article, and likened it to the McRib for its short-term hit-status, “Corduroy may be the ultimate always-going-in-and-out-of-fashion fabric.” And it’s on the upswing once again.

Personally, I’m always game. I’ve long wished for a full suit, like the Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Or, better yet, an entire sofa!

Until then, other favorites:
A tailored blazer that riffs on the ’70s.
Overalls—AG and Zara both have pairs.
Cropped wide leg trousers. (Similar)
Or a baseball cap, for just a touch of wales.
And Shopbop is offering 20-25% off sitewise with the code EOTS17 right now, so I searched “Corduroy.” There are at least three items there I’d be happy to have—like this Paul Smith blazer.
What do you say?
