Blue Jean Baby (& Friday Links)

It’s my birthday on Sunday, so I’m kicking it off tonight in a big way! My friend had an extra ticket to see Elton John in Vegas and I’m about to head to the airport—sequin one-piece in hand! (Can’t believe I’ll be back one year later!)

Then, I’m looking forward to cake with the kiddos, and a birthday evening picnic date with my love—we’re going to a local DavisEats event.

Have a great weekend! In the meantime, some links of note…

Sad news post-Dorian: Officials say hundreds, possibly thousands, are still missing in the Abacos and Grand Bahama. Look for the helpers.

I loved this lip tint over the summer because it won’t melt if you leave it in your car.

I read the review of Malcolm Gladwell’s new book, Talking to Strangers, just after finishing the devastating (but incredible) Nickel Boys and couldn’t help but think how it might pair well.

Love the How-to section on Schoolhouse Electric.

Wish-listed for my inner twirler.

And for little twirlers, a forky tutu! Oh my. (Actually, love the combo of tutus and action heroes here.)

It’s still so hard! The challenge of making adult friends.

Only 426 more days? Ugh.

Looking forward to reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s Free 10-Step Writing Program.

P.S. Hoping to finish up a Hawaiian travelogue next week!
