Will you be doing anything unique to mark the long weekend? The temperature will be spiking here so we’ll be swimming and appreciating that Aron has Monday off. Blackberries will be ripening in his parents’ garden and we will do some socially-distanced picking. I’m also anticipating some work around the house. We’re finishing up some projects in the garden and I’ve been eyeing some furnishings online (I added all of the shopping links for the sales below).
We’ve been watching Lego Masters as a family as well as the wrapping up the National Parks series on Disney+. And the other night we watched Back to the Future for the first time in ages, and I was shocked at the whole sexual assault plot and peeping-tom father moment I’d completely forgotten/overlooked. I need to go back to my family movie list. At nights, after the kids are asleep, Aron and I are watching Fauda… but we made a mistake and started with season three, so we’ve just started over. Ha!
Thank you for the nice comments in last week’s digest. I really enjoyed hearing what some of you are doing at home!
Some links of note…
Absolutely love these movie posters reimagined—the best part is that you can print them out for the kids to color!
This couple set up photo shoots in their backyard and then just waited for the squirrels to come.

Meanwhile, U.S. Billionaires have gotten $434 million richer—Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg had the biggest gains.
Also, it looks like Zuckerberg can start saving on rent.
Stephanie Madewell (Even*Cleveland) is a beautiful writer, and I loved this essay for Dining in Place.

Some good news for John Krasinski.
And finally, turn this up! Going to show it to the kids later and have a dance party. Infectious in the best way.
P.S. I get sent tons of sale updates from brands in advance of holiday weekends. If you’re in a shopping mood (I am looking at sheet sets, bathingsuits, comfy pants, and kids’ shoes, in particular, but have a wandering eye for all home furnishings), here are some Memorial Day weekend deals. Of course your local businesses probably need your support most—so be sure to check there for sales first!
Artifact Uprising: I do not want these months to pass without having made a single photo album. It has been my goal for too long! Take 10% off on all orders, including photo gifts, with code LONGWEEKEND. (Though you can often find a blogger with a 15% discount code on specific albums. Like my friend, BonTraveler.)
ASOS: 25% sitewide with the code MEMORIAL2020 through May 21.
& Other Stories: 30-50% off from May 22 until May 25. A personal favorite for dresses and swimsuits.
Anthropologie: Extra 50% off all sale items. 25% everything for Perks members. (I like how this swimsuit protects your chest.) 30% off outdoor.
CB2: Their outdoor catalog was very effective on me—especially considering all of the time we’ll be spending in our backyard. Add to that the new Leanne Ford collection and… Save up to 55% clearance and up to 40% outdoor furniture until May 25.
The Container Store: Purging and organizing was high on my activity list for at least the first few weeks. (I wish I could say I’ve kept it up.) I’ve been waiting for a sale to buy more kitchen storage containers. Sale offers: 30% off closet essentials, up to 25% off shoe storage, up to 25% off kitchen, up to 20% off garage organization, etc.
Everlane: Choose What You Pay Sale is one of those early bird deals (it’s been live for over a week) that lasts until stock sells out. Up to 50% off.
Hanky Panky: Thongs, panties, and camis up to 65% off (with its best-selling thongs going for $14.99). I haven’t tried these, but at our holiday gift exchange these were one of the most-stolen items. (That sounds funny.)
Lou & Grey: 30% select new season styles (including its Signaturesoft dress—and jumpsuit, my pick) through May 26. Seemed to be the unofficial shelter-in-place pick for comfy.
Lulu and Georgia: This weekend, they’re offering 15% off $500 with code MDW15; 20% off $1,000 with code MDW20; and 25% off 1,500 with code MDW25. I love this rug.
Nordstrom: The retail giant is slowly re-opening its stores, but its clearance sale is online with up to 60% off new and old season items.
Parachute: They only have their 20% off sale twice a year. Staying home more has really put new sheets on the top of my wishlist, and these are the ones I’m excited to try. 20% off sitewide excluding furniture, donations, swatches and gift cards until May 25. I’m getting a mix of percale and linen.
Rifle Paper Co.: These chatbooks would make really cute grad gifts. Take 30% off all items with Code FRESH until May 26.
Shopbop: Whether you’re looking for cute basics or fashion-forward styles, Shopbop’s ongoing spring sale has all kinds of pretty things you need to perk up your closet—at an epic 70% off.
Solid & Striped: Big sitewide sale: It’s doing 25% off everything right now—even new styles—from May 19 to May 25 with the code MDW25 at checkout. I love the look of their coverups and am especially interested in this madras material suit—so cute. (Also love the one-piece.)
Universal Standard: The updated basics, size-inclusive brand rarely does sitewide sales, but it’s made an exception this year with 25% off everything on May 25. Also, $65 for a pair of jeans from May 22 until May 24.
West Elm: My head is definitely more on home decor than clothing right now. Going to be having a look. Save up to 70% off rugs, blankets, pillows, candles etc. Receive free shipping with code SAVEMORE until May 25.
Zappos: Up to 50% off from May 19 through May 25. Our kids’ feet keep growing. And growing. And growing…
