Though not new to Williamsburg, Moon River is new to us. Architectural salvage, penny candy, vintage hardware, linens and dry goods, beautiful books, all-wood toys, potting supplies…
Inspired by a classic (carefully curated) General Store, it’s just one more example of how everyday objects can be made into special objects.

The store reclaims wood and installs flooring for reasonable prices as part of their salvage business.
Their supply of goods rotates; on this visit they had a couple of beautiful split-wood tables, topped with natural bristle brushes and buckets of twine, and a full-size stuffed moose. Glass jars held tempting match books (but I have a hard enough time not saving too many from favorite restaurants).
