This week will bring gift ideas for her, for him, for the kiddo, and for everyone else. Let’s get started!
- A bouquet of seasonal flowers—whether just once, once a month, or every week.
- An inspirational coffee table book. Four ideas: 200 Women, with interviews providing a snapshot of female life around the globe; Wabi-Sabi Welcome, a peek into artful, easygoing homes around the world; Slim Aarons: Women, featuring those who inspired his most incredible photographs; and The Organized Home, tips for a home that makes her happy, from the editors of Remodelista.
- This Reinhard Plank Hat is incredible. Too pricey? Consider a Brixton wide brim hat as an alternative.
- She loves taking pictures, but loathes the heavy camera. Get just the right iPhone Lens.
- Everyone seems to agree that this is the perfect dress dress sandal—in any color—by Sam Edelman.
- Sister Resister Tee, with a portion of proceeds going to the ACLU.
- A makes-everything-prettier cake stand. Bonus: Add Milk Bar’s birthday cake on top. (Update: Sold out, but here’s an alternative.)
- Appointed paper goods: the nicest planners and notebooks. Add her monogram to personalize.
- Everlane’s just-right sleep shirt. (Also comes in a full pajama set, if she prefers.)
- The most beautiful sparkling water maker to help her kick the La Croix cans.
- This cult-favorite means carrying only one thing in her purse: the RMS Beauty Signature Set is an all-natural, multipurpose palette for lips, cheeks, and eyes.
- A chic beach cover-up that won’t go out of style. (Update: Sold out.)
- For her desk or bedside: a Phone dock valet for keeping cords out of sight. (Add the watch dock if she wears an Apple Watch)
- Found! A velvet clutch to go with everything. Love that it comes with a strap, just in case. So many good colors, but I especially like the violet and the mustard. (Update: Similar)
- I know the mason jar thing has gotten a bit crazy, but this jar and storage prep set is so clever! Would be great for small apartments or for toting to a vacation rental.
- Facial Detox Steam, and a few hours to relax alone.
- Would a holiday gift guide be complete without moccasin slippers? These ones look so cozy. (Update: Similar.)
- This is the most amazing clear-ish nail polish. Dior Nail Glow universally makes nails look better. If she hasn’t tried it yet, she’ll thank you for the introduction.
- Something with bell sleeves for her closet for this season’s trend. Consider this knit tunic which works as well on its own as it does over skinny jeans.
- One of her most wish-listed cookbooks, like Cherry Bombe, Dining In, Smitten Kitchen Every Day, or Everything I Want to Eat (Or a beautiful book for safe-guarding her own family recipes for years to come.)
- Such a cool take on the name necklace. (Update: Similar)
If none of these ideas is just right for her, look to experiences—even just a night out for dinner and a movie—or perhaps a gift card to one of her favorite stores. Anthropologie and Madewell are two of my top picks.
P.S. On More inspiration… I’ve been putting together gift guides for many years and I often find myself going back to past guides for gift-giving inspiration even now. Just in case you’d like to do the same, I’ve checked these previous Gift Guides for Her to make sure that the links are working and up to date.
2013: which includes a robe still on my wish-list (hint, hint), and six other items that I still use on a weekly basis. | 2014: Aw, Friday Night Lights. I miss you. Also, I still need to read that Nora Ephron book. | 2015: I’d forgotten about that rose parfum! Stand by all of it. | 2016: Still need to get that sweatshirt. | And a few guides made specifically with mothers in mind. This and this. (I still make those little photo books every year, and that cake… oh my.)
Coming up next: A gift guide for him
