Weekend plans (& Friday Links)

Any fun plans this weekend? I’ve been in Palm Springs the past few days for a fun event, but I’m flying back today. Then it’s soccer games, bike-riding, and farmer’s markets until Saturday night when Aron and I are having dinner at Scribe: the restauranteur behind Diner, one of our all-time favorite restaurants in Williamsburg, and maybe the favorite ever wrote a book, Dinner at the Long Tableand they’re having an evening to celebrate. I’m really looking forward to it!

Some links of note…

Love these temporary tattoos!

Our next book club pick. I’ve been hoping to read this.

Can’t stop thinking about this episode of Reply All.

More ways to become an informed voter.

This saddened me! I love the mini-shopping carts at our local co-op.

On double-standards.

Planning to make a trip to Apple Hill soon.

And looking forward to making something like this.

A lovely manifesto.

Say yes to birthdays. (True for adults, too.)

Greedy for life’s pleasures.

Another cookbook I’d like. (So I can try more savory breakfast rice bowls.)

Designing your life.

Looking back at President Obama’s two terms.

Did you read the 9/11 Seinfeld script? What do you think? (I hope Larry David and Seinfeld share reactions one day!)

And an interview with the author.

And some photos from one of our favorite local pizza spots, Hot Italian, in Davis! (I took over their Instagram last weekend.)
