Recently, at the Market

A few weeks had passed since my last visit to the Greenmarket and so I was shocked when suddenly I found myself amongst purple Asparagus, Fiddlehead ferns, rhubarb, and Lily of the Valley. I’m not sure why: spring has been apparent all around for a while now. Somehow I didn’t fully appreciate it until it was on the table, too!

Sakura Bloom Sling Diary: Style

This is the second installment installment in the Sakura Bloom Sling Diaries Series. The theme this round is “style.” Too much pressure for just me and Hudson to bear, so we went to Williamsburg and hoped some of the neighborhood’s style would infuse the entry.

Actually we went to Smorgasburg, the all-food incarnation of the Brooklyn Flea, which has returned to the waterfront for the season. Such a nice way to spend a sunny (and preferably not too windy) Saturday.

Have a great weekend!

Faux dessert

I’ve only come across this new flavor twice. (And I’ve been looking!) If it were in a shot glass as part of a fancy dessert course (you know the kind… passionfruit three ways or something like that), you’d never guess its origin. Okay, the fruit is a bit more jelly-like than fresh, but it even has the seeds. So good.

By the way, did you know that Chobani is produced in Upstate New York? I didn’t. There was a nice feature on them in the most recent Edible New York (here’s a snippet from the Edible blog).
